Internet research and investigations are becoming increasingly complex. With the right tools and workflows, however, these current challenges and future requirements can be mastered.
Our training with focus on Internet research & OSINT (Open Source Intelligence) initially includes the fundamentals of internet research including the configuration of the research browser, efficient internet search, search plan, search protocol, documentation of the research and preservation of evidence.
The seminar takes place in our office in Brüggen in small groups up to Max. four participants with their own notebook. This way, everyone can get the best out of it.
For the duration of the seminar, we provide Internet access (fiber) as Wi-Fi / LAN.
Anyone who has to carry out professional Internet research today needs, in addition to mastering the basics of the Internet, meaningful tools and processes. In this seminar, we will give you a solid understanding of how to use these techniques and workflows.
Whether configuration discovery browser, efficient internet search, preparation, search plan, search log, online evidence backup, search engines & operators, current search rules and Boolean search instructions, as well as best practices for daily use :
During the two days of the seminar, participants will receive a detailed insight into the workflows and tools for Internet research.
Prerequisites for the Internet Research Fundamentals Training
- Own notebook (recommended: 16GB Ram, min. 8GB) configured with the following software:
- Google Chrome (latest version)
- Firefox (latest version)
- Microsoft Office or equivalent software (Open Office)
- Installation rights on the notebook should be available
- Basic knowledge of information technology and the use of IT tools
You will learn new ways of researching people and organization.
You know important tools like VPN, virtual machines, anonymous mobile phones and similar tools.
You have an optimally configured discovery browser and can use it anywhere via backups at any time.
You know the basics of efficient Internet research and are able to implement structured investigation plans.
You can create professional search plans and use tools for proof-proof search logs.
You are able to use the Google operators and Boolean search instructions.
You can secure the identified evidence online and master the basics of “online evidence preservation”.
You have created your own hidden accounts (covert accounts/sock puppets) on relevant social networks.
You are able to optimize the security and usability of your investigations by using virtual machines.
You know the differences between “free tools” for OSINT and paid professional tools.

Flexible use of media
To get the attention you need, we work with easy-to-understand mind-maps/MindManager presentations, live samples with Maltego and CaseFile. Flip chart and pin boards are used as well.
We work on research assignments every day, successfully conducting worldwide Internet investigations and using many professional tools and workflows. Accordingly, we will show you interesting live examples from daily practice. Cases of the participants can be addressed in the group and solutions can be worked out.
Tips and Seminar Materials
In addition to the workflows, you will learn about other useful OSINT tools (Maltego) and research sources. You will receive valuable tips and tricks that actively support you in your daily work. Detailed, seminar-accompanying documents and mind maps serve as a comprehensive reference book for your own projects.

Upon receipt of your registration, you will receive a registration confirmation and an invoice. The invoice is payable immediately upon receipt.
The price includes two lunch snacks and various MindSnacks. In addition to “handmade” coffee from our favorite roastery [cappuccino, espresso, espresso macchiato], there are also various teas and mineral water.
It also includes free tools and trial licenses for commercial solutions.
You will also receive detailed digital seminar documents:
- You will receive the mind-maps as HTML5 version, as well as online available information such as reference sheets, bookmarks, and online resources.
Costs for arrival and accommodation are to be paid by yourself if required and are not included in the seminar price.
Up to 15 days before the event you can cancel your registration free of charge in writing and receive your paid participant fee back. Of course, it is possible to represent the registered participant.
From the 14th day before the event, we charge the entire participant fee.
In the event of a participant’s prevention, you are entitled to provide a substitute participant at any time. The registration of a replacement participant does not incur any costs.
In the event of cancellation of the events by corma GmbH due to uninfluenced reasons or force majeure or due to an insufficient number of participants (less than 50%), the full participation fee will be refunded. Further claims are excluded.
For optimal learning success, the number of participants is limited to a maximum of four people.

Required work equipment
In the seminar room (except notebooks/PC) all the work equipment you need is available free of charge.
The training room is equipped with:

Basically, you need your own notebook. Please don’t forget the mouse!
Free parking is available at the training site. With the registration, you will receive further information for the travel.
Certificate of participation
All participants receive a personal certificate of participation from corma GmbH. The certificate is signed by the trainer.
